High Intensity Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields PEMF Therapy
PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy is a non-invasive technique that uses electromagnetic fields to stimulate cellular health and promote overall well-being. Discover how PEMF Therapy can potentially alleviate pain, enhance healing, improve sleep, and support various bodily functions. Our PEMF machine is the HUGO Pro and includes various attachments like a PEMF mat in which you lay between.
What is PEMF? Who might want to do Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields?
PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy. It is a non-invasive therapeutic technique that involves the application of electromagnetic fields to the body. These electromagnetic fields are typically generated by specialized devices and delivered in pulses or frequencies.
PEMF therapy has been used to promote various health benefits, including pain management, accelerated healing, improved sleep quality, enhanced circulation, reduced inflammation, and enhanced overall well-being. It is believed to work by stimulating the body's cells and promoting cellular health.
People who might consider PEMF therapy include individuals dealing with chronic pain, joint conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, or conditions that affect circulation and tissue healing. It may also be of interest to athletes seeking to support their recovery process or individuals looking for non-invasive complementary therapies to enhance their overall wellness.
Since 1979, PEMF has been approved by the FDA as a specific treatment for:
- Healing of non-union fractures
- Treating urinary incontinence and muscle stimulation
- Cervical fusion patients at high-risk of non-fusion
- Treatment of depression and anxiety
What other benefits might one experience?
PEMF has the ability to influence nerve activity by altering the electrical and chemical properties of nerve cells. It can help modulate the transmission of pain signals along nerve pathways, reducing the perception of pain.
Improved Circulation and Blood Flow
PEMF therapy has been observed to promote the dilation of blood vessels, leading to increased blood flow. This vasodilation helps improve circulation by expanding the diameter of blood vessels, reducing resistance to blood flow, and facilitating the delivery of oxygen, nutrients, and immune cells to tissues.
Decreased stress and anxiety
PEMF therapy has been found to modulate the activity and release of neurotransmitters in the brain, including serotonin, dopamine, and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). These neurotransmitters play a crucial role in regulating mood, emotions, and stress responses. By influencing neurotransmitter levels, PEMF therapy may help balance brain chemistry and alleviate symptoms of stress and anxiety.
Healthy Heart Function
PEMF therapy has been found to improve microcirculation and blood flow, including within the coronary arteries that supply the heart muscle with oxygen and nutrients. By promoting better circulation, PEMF may help deliver adequate oxygen and nutrients to the heart, supporting its optimal function.
Improved Sleep, better and fuller sleep cycles
PEMF therapy has been found to influence the body's internal clock and help regulate circadian rhythms. Circadian rhythms govern the sleep-wake cycle and other physiological processes. By promoting synchronization with natural light-dark cycles, PEMF therapy may help regulate the timing and quality of sleep.
Enhanced healing, repair, and recovery
PEMF therapy has been observed to increase cellular energy production through the stimulation of ATP synthesis. ATP provides the necessary energy for cellular activities, including those involved in tissue repair and regeneration. By enhancing cellular energy, PEMF therapy may support the efficiency and effectiveness of the healing process.
Decreased inflammation and swelling
PEMF therapy has been found to influence immune cell activity and the release of inflammatory mediators. It can help regulate the production and release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin-1 (IL-1), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). By modulating the immune response, PEMF may help reduce excessive inflammation.
Improved mental focus, concentration and cognition
PEMF therapy has been shown to induce a state of relaxation, reduce stress levels, and promote a sense of calm. By reducing stress and anxiety, PEMF therapy may improve mental performance by enhancing focus, attention, and cognitive processing.
Improved muscle performance
PEMF therapy has been used to promote muscle recovery and accelerate the healing process after injury or intense physical activity. It may help reduce muscle inflammation, support tissue repair, and enhance the regeneration of muscle fibers.
PEMF therapy has demonstrated antioxidant effects and the ability to regulate oxidative stress levels in cells. Oxidative stress occurs when there is an imbalance between the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the body's antioxidant defenses. By reducing oxidative stress, PEMF therapy protects cells from damage and supports their overall health.
Our PEMF Machine and Attachments
This PEMF machine works by jumping a spark within the machine which then sends current through the wires of any of the various attachments. Whenever there is moving electricity, a magnetic field is created. The longer amount of time between sparks creates a larger charge, a larger current, and a larger magnetic field.
Lay between two PEMF mats to treat your whole body at once. Inside the mats are the same electric coils that are pictured below. Your head will never be between the mats.
Use the coils to wrap an appendage where you have a specific place of pain. Unlike the PEMF mat which treats the whole body, the coils target a specific area often allowing you to turn up the intensity. Often, your upper body can tolerate less than your legs.
Use the wands for the same purpose as the coils to treat a specific area. Two wands can be used at the same time to treat two areas or to create twice as strong pulses.
