What Foods are Making You Sick?

Certain foods can cause adverse reactions in some people and make them sick. These reactions can be caused by food allergies, intolerances, or sensitivities. Here are some examples of foods that may be making you sick:

  1. Dairy: Some people are lactose intolerant, which means they have difficulty digesting lactose, the sugar found in milk and dairy products. This can cause symptoms such as bloating, gas, and diarrhea.

  2. Gluten: Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. Some people have celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder in which consuming gluten causes damage to the small intestine. Others may have a non-celiac gluten sensitivity, which can cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, and diarrhea.

  3. Soy: Soy is a common allergen that can cause symptoms such as hives, swelling, and difficulty breathing in people who are allergic to it.

  4. Eggs: Eggs are another common allergen that can cause symptoms such as hives, swelling, and difficulty breathing in people who are allergic to them.

  5. Shellfish: Shellfish, including shrimp, crab, and lobster, are common allergens that can cause severe reactions, including anaphylaxis, in people who are allergic to them.

  7. Processed foods: Processed foods often contain additives, preservatives, and artificial colors and flavors that can cause adverse reactions in some people. These reactions may include headaches, hives, and digestive problems.
